● 컨셉 설명

학교 환경개선공사의 주 목적 중에 하나는 셉테드(CPTED) 디자인 입니다. 셉테드 디자인은 범죄예방 환경 디자인을 뜻하며 Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design 의 약자 입니다. 범죄는 물리적 환경에 따라서 자주 발생할 수 있다는 입장에서 만들어진 것으로 방어적 공간 특성을 높여 범죄 발생 가능성을 줄이고 안정감을 향상시키는 기법을 말합니다. 한마디로 '범죄예방 환경 디자인'이라고 말합니다. 학교라는 공간도 음지와 양지가 있는데 이중에서 학교 폭력이 가장 많이 발생하는 곳이 '화장실' 이었습니다. 어둡고, 더럽고, 청결하지 못하다는 인식이 강했습니다. 하지만, 환경개선공사 사업이 시작되면서 그라피코 제품이 더욱 더 많이 반영되기 시작했습니다. 사용하는 공간이 청결하고, 유지관리가 잘 되면 영역성이 강화되며 학생들의 사용량이 늘어 남으로서 범죄 기회 또한 줄어들게 됩니다. 층별로 저학년부터 고학년까지 가장 적합한 색상을 고려하여 적용 하여 학생들의 인지능력 또한 높아집니다.

● Concept Description

One of the main goals of school environment improvement projects is the implementation of CPTED design. CPTED stands for Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. This approach is based on the idea that crime often occurs depending on the physical environment, and aims to reduce the possibility of criminal activity and increase a sense of safety by reinforcing defensive space characteristics. In short, it is a design strategy for crime prevention.

In schools, there are both visible (bright) and hidden (dark) areas, and among these, the place where school violence most frequently occurs is the restroom. Traditionally seen as dark, dirty, and unhygienic, restrooms have been avoided by students. However, since the beginning of environment improvement projects, the use of Graphico products has significantly increased.

When spaces are clean and well-maintained, territoriality is strengthened, leading to increased usage and fewer opportunities for crime. The designs are carefully considered with the most suitable colors for each grade level—ranging from lower to upper grades—which also improves cognitive recognition among students.
