"고래와 대나무의 만남?"

● 컨셉 설명

담양은 대나무 숲으로 유명한 '죽녹원'이 있는 곳으로 대나무와 고래를 형상화 한 공간으로 탄생 하였습니다. 계단 벽면은 책장 위로 고래를 형상화한 곡선이 그라데이션 처럼 자리잡고 있고, 원형의 도형들은 대나무를 잘랐을 때의 단면도를 떠올리기도 하지만 고래가 내뿜는 공기방울을 형상화 하기도 합니다. 일부 큰 원형에는 대나무 그림을 은은하게 표현하여 학생들이 보았을 때 자연스럽게 연관지어 생각해 볼 수 있는 시간을 주기도 합니다. 꿈을 표현 할 때에는 성공과 행운의 상징인 고래가 자주 등장하기도 합니다. 고래와 대나무가 만나 환상적인 콜라보를 보여주고 있습니다.

"A Meeting Between Whales and Bamboo?"

● Concept Description

Damyang is home to the famous bamboo forest Juknokwon, and this space was created by blending the symbolic imagery of bamboo and whales. The staircase wall features a whale-shaped curve flowing above a bookshelf-like structure, designed with a gradient effect. The round shapes scattered throughout the design represent both the cross-sections of bamboo and the bubbles blown by a whale.

In some of the larger circles, soft illustrations of bamboo are subtly incorporated—offering students a moment to naturally make associations and reflect. Whales, often seen as symbols of success and good fortune, frequently appear in designs representing dreams.

This is a truly imaginative collaboration of two powerful natural symbols—whale and bamboo—coming together to create a space of harmony and inspiration.
